Macs with an Apple M chip, M1 or later: almost every Mac sold since the end of 2020.

Which Mac? Open the Apple menu › About This Mac. It says Chip and an Apple M name on Apple silicon, Processor and Intel on an Intel Mac.

Open the file you downloaded. A window shows Konsole and your Applications folder.
Drag Konsole onto Applications.
Open Konsole from Applications. The first time, macOS asks whether to open an app downloaded from the internet: choose Open. Konsole is signed and notarized by Apple.

Open the installer you downloaded. It's signed by H2Code, the company that makes Konsole: Windows shows that name as the publisher.
Follow the installer. Konsole installs for your user, no administrator needed.
Open Konsole from the Start menu.

Then create a site or bring one home. Konsole gets what a site needs by itself. If you use Docker Desktop or OrbStack, it can use that instead.

Updates: Konsole checks for a new version when it starts and installs it for the next launch.
Check the file: Each release carries SHA256SUMS files with the fingerprint of every download, on the release page.
Windows: Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit. The installer and the app are code-signed by H2Code. If SmartScreen still asks about a brand-new version, choose More info, then Run anyway.
